Aliens vs Predator: Southpaw Confirmed [Updated]

We’ve received word from Rebellion that their upcoming (and highly anticipated) shooter, Aliens vs Predator will offer Southpaw controls:
If by Southpaw you’re talking about swapping the analogue sticks over then I’ve been reliably informed from QA that, yes the game supports it.
-Julian Hall of Rebellion
The past two Rebellion games have not offered alternate controls and many people were worried about this title as such. Southpaw players can now sigh in relief. No word on Legacy or Southpaw-legacy at this time, but we’ll find out when the demo arrives this Thursday, February 4th.
[Thanks, Squiffy]
-Update: Legacy is available, though the Southpaw option also switches the triggers.

February 4th, 2010 at 8:39 amAfter playing the demo, the “southpaw” controls provided switch not just the thumbsticks, but the triggers as well

Why can’t developers get this right? It’s easy, halo and COD got it down… -

Players should definately be able to choose whether they want to switch the triggers or not. What about Legacy, is that available?

February 8th, 2010 at 3:01 amI suppose this is good — still, getting tired of being diplomatic about this… give us button mapping too!! Its so annoying to relearn what is what from game to game.

February 25th, 2010 at 2:17 pmOddly, the full 360 version does not have the update for Southpaw with normal triggers.

February 25th, 2010 at 11:19 pmman. 360 is my primary console… that’s really disappointing the controller layout update isn’t cross platform.
