Thanks to the good folks at FilePlanet we have managed to get our hands on a beta code for BF:BC2. While most Battlefield games have omitted any kind of alternate control styles, the efforts of our readers have opened communication between developer DICE and our community. Slowly, more control options have been added into this developer’s games. So it is with great joy that I can report that said efforts have finally resulted in a buffet of control options for Bad Company 2.

Left 4 Dead Adds Legacy, Equals Love From Valve

After playing through the new versus maps and Survival Mode last night, I went to bed feeling quite satisfied with all the new content Valve has added to Left 4 Dead.
I awoke this morning and recalled that a certain Valve employee had suggested that Alt-controls’ members would be quite happy with the next update. It would be a shame if this was implemented two months ago only for us to notice now but better late than never as they say. We requested it and Valve delivered.
Although there is still no option to map the button layouts, I would like to thank Valve on behalf of us all for taking the time to add some more controller options for us, the often overlooked segment of the gaming population. Screen shot and an explanation after the jump.
Could it finally be?!?!

Loved the first so I hope this is real because rolling over zombies in human hamster balls is just too awesome! The original had Southpaw aiming so it’s fair game on this site. Enjoy, it’s Vegas or bust!

Alternate Controls:
-Southpaw
I got my hands on the Left 4 Dead early Demo this past Thursday and my lazy self is just getting around to this. Left 4 Dead is developed by Turtle Rocks Studios, under Valve. This game uses the same game engine as all those games in The Orange box, Source. I must say that I had the highest hopes for the control options in this game but my hopes were crushed upon reviewing this Demo. As stated above this title only supports Southpaw. In addition to that the game doesn’t have button mapping found in it’s Orange Box brethren. Replacing that, instead, is four preset controller layouts. Really these are just hard times for Legacy guys.

Left 4 Dead has serious potential

Mike Booth’s Turtle Rock Studios is responsible for this game’s development, which is currently slated to be released on the Xbox 360 and PC. And it’s honestly my most anticipated game right now, which sucks because there is no set release date for the title.
Now I love me some zombies, but for me the most appealing aspect of L4D is the multiplayer campaign and deathmatch modes. Turtle Rock Studios is really trying to create a new style of co-op by overrunning players with hordes of zombies, thereby forcing them to work as a team. This should make for genuinely unique co-op gameplay or at least cause a lot of squabbling amongst teammates. Good times. Adding to all this goodness is the AI monitoring system, which will generate zombies based on player/team productivity. This means that the enemies aren’t assigned to single locations on the map and players can’t determine where the zombies will come from, no matter how many times they play a level. This should give it good replay value. Read the rest…
Frontlines = Fun For All **Update - No Legacy/SP legacy

Supported control styles
- Southpaw
- Legacy
- SP Legacy
**Well geez I am just a royal F’up as of late, but I am human (maybe) and I have made a huge oversight with Frontlines. Apparently this game does not support Legacy or SP Legacy control schemes but it DOES support Southpaw, I garauntee it!
I have the game loaded in my 360 right now and as 2Three mentioned it was easy to make this mistake. NEVER is my 20 years of gaming have I seen anything like this, I don’t understand who KAOS studios was talking to and perhaps there was a crossed line in development but the options for Legacy and Southpaw Legacy are anything but. Again what you’ll find is these options only switch a couple of button functions essentially creating button map variations of Southpaw and default control styles.
Although my apologies do not make up for the loss of your hard earned money, I offer it to all of you Legacy players that purchased this game only to be let down. I would also like to thank the members that brought this issue to our attention, without all of you maintaining accurate data would be next to impossible.
I am currently attempting to contact someone at KAOS studios regarding this issue because I really believe this is a crossed wire in develpment and KAOS Studios had every intention of including these neglected control options. Expect updates to follow.
