Control Info Straight From E3

We have some information on the possible control options for a few upcoming games that made appearances at E3:
Halo 3: ODST supports the typical stick layouts offered by Bungie in past Halo games.
Left 4 Dead 2 did not offer a Legacy option at E3. You’ll recall that the first L4D game supported Southpaw, while Legacy and Legacy-Southpaw were added later on via a patch. Upon questioning Valve, it was mentioned that they have not yet merged the user interface tweaks from the first game into L4D 2, but these would be present in the final product.
Based on that, it seems as though Valve plans on offering an alt-control friendly game in L4D 2 – it wouldn’t be logical for them to leave out the established control options from the first game, especially considering the fact that extra steps were taken to patch in the Legacy and Legacy-Southpaw options. I suspect that we have nothing to worry about here.
Battlefield 1943 is supposedly sporting a Southpaw option, but no Legacy configuration. When asked about Legacy, DICE stated that there are currently no plans to support this option, which is disappointing.
As always, we will confirm the available configurations of these titles upon their release. Many thanks to Punchy for reviewing the controls of these games amidst the excitement of E3.
