@ Christian

You can turn it off through your dashboard personal settings. See my above comment on how to access stick settings and you can change it back there.

1. From the Dashboard, push the controller's "Guide" button.

2. Shift two spots to the right to bring up "Settings"

3. Select "Profile," then "Game Defaults"

4. Select "Action"

5. Set "Movement" to the right stick for Southpaw controls.

This doesn't unlock Southpaw for all games (though it would be nice if it did) - but Fallout 3 is a game that will support Southpaw once you do this.

amazing that Oblivion 360 was released with no southpaw but was patched later to fix it but the PS3 version was never fixed. Fallout 3 was released with southpaw support via the dashboard out of the box, and the PS3 version still has no support. I have to wonder if this omission is on the hardware level in some cases.

@ SAKY

I agree with you that modded controllers are not a permanent solution... they do have issues as you mentioned and games that have been programmed to offer the proper control configurations always feel better, in my opinion.

Without intervention from this group and the folks at ablegamers.com I fear we will see the same options from developers year in and year out. So yes, Gears of War, Halo , and Call of Duty are series that we can count on for inclusion of the standard four control layouts....for now. No worries there. Sadly, I fear, the legacy options are going to get phased out as years pass and then southpaw after that.

Folks we can't rely on controller mods forever. In many ways they fail to deliver already, circular menus and driving some to mind. I think there is is going to be a point where all industry devs are going to stop adding these options. My advice is to voice yourself now because it's only going to get harder as time passes as more developers forget these options ever existed.

Seems like I'll be saying this until im blue in the face...er...fingers. On the bright side, I'm glad to see button mapping.

@ soulwarrior
That will probably be the case as PS3 doesn't have a firmware level southpaw option like the 360 has. Like you and 2Three have said, this senario was also true for Oblivion.
