Alternate Controls Available: Southpaw
Well my good pal McLovin is going to be pissed off. Far Cry 2 supports a Southpaw control scheme, but it doesn’t appear to offer a Legacy configuration.
This is a real disappointment for Legacy players. Not only did the first game support Legacy, but this is another Ubisoft title that has neglected the configuration.
2008 is officially shaping up to be the worst year in history for Legacy players. Only three games have actually offered this option all year: Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Unreal Tournament 3 and the COD: W@W beta.
Thanks go out to Mr. Madness and soulwarrior for the tips. For control configuration screen shots, check out the official boards.

October 21st, 2008 at 12:15 pmYou have to be kidding me! Well this game just got a whole lot lower on my must get list. What a shitty month this is turning into. Why do they hate us so much?

October 21st, 2008 at 1:14 pmThey think we’re “Goofy” obviously.
Legacy players who had the first Far Cry on the Xbox 360 know what I’m talking about.
Different dev this time though, but you know what I’m getting at.

October 22nd, 2008 at 5:26 amNot enough people take action and it’s sad because situations like these are only going to get worse. The messed up part here is that this is coming from Ubisoft who did so well in 2006/07 after being hounded about the original GRAW.
Of course you can always count on a few games for the Legacy guys.
Gears
COD
HaloI think I am now more excited to see if Turtle Rock Studios put in those control options than I am about their product. I’m shelling out $60(US) to find out.

I’m starting to wonder as well if many Legacy players have switched over to Southpaw or Default

October 25th, 2008 at 5:27 amIt appears that Ubi Montreal have decided to swap the trigger function in the ‘Standard Lefty’ setup as their Paris team did with GRAW 2 (I believe the Montreal team didn’t do this with R6 Vegas). Can anyone confirm if this is the only southpaw option.
Also, do many southpaw gamers prefer to fire with the left trigger? I would have thought that aiming with the left thumstick and firing with the right trigger most closely resembles using a real gun thereby adding to the immersion factor so proudly touted by the developers.

October 25th, 2008 at 9:29 amThis game is completely hopeless for me,
There’s no way to aim with left stick and shoot with the right trigger - which is how I play COD, Halo, and every other shooter!
Idiots.

November 1st, 2008 at 5:16 amWhen your in the middle of a tense fire fight and you need your reactions sharp the last thing you want to do when faced with an enemy is pull your trigger and look down your iron sights. The controls are a pain and I find combat a chore not a pleasure. What I am enjoying is the map making I’ve created two maps and would ask the community to down load them and pass on some feed back. just search the aurthor SQU1FFY v2.
Thanks guys
