Yeah I switched to Southpaw for a couple weeks but then it basically requires you to claw in most games. It's almost impossible to comfortably use the A, B, X, Y buttons while using right stick to move. I played all of The Orange Box in Southpaw and it was ok, because I could customize all the buttons. Which brings us back around to being at the developers mercy again.....

Another game that offered that was PD Zero.

Have you ever tried using Southpaw? You'll always be able to aim solely with the Left Stick... though moving with the Right Stick may take some getting used to.

What I'd really like to see in games like this:

Left stick move, right stick look during regular movement (platforming situations)

BUT once zoomed in to shoot (such as in games like GTA4) then we could have the option to switch to Legacy aiming.

The ONLY games I've ever seen come close to giving this type of customization is in the Timesplitters series. They would let you change the stick configuration while aiming. Amazing option to have.

I agree with Teej that Legacy in a 3rd person game can be awkward. The one exception is in the Gears series it felt great! That is until you realized that once you used the chainsaw or roadie run it was a total drunken mess.....let's just not get me started on that topic!

Makes sense - I am glad this game is accessible for both of you.

These types of games are usually comfortable for most Legacy players and I agree that our control style becomes pivotal with games where strafing and FPS-style aiming come into play. We are mindful of all styles and with inFAMOUS, some may require a Southpaw option.

I agree with "teej." Even though inFamous is in third person, I see it as more of a platformer. GTA IV is basically a mixture of both, especially when guns are being used then it becomes more of a shooter. Legacy or scout, I think is gear more towards pure shooters like Call of Duty or Socom. Nonetheless, inFamous is an awesome game. Not perfect but a great game.

I'm a Legacy guy, but i don't know how I really feel about playing 3rd person stuff that way. While the camera doesn't move and the guy doesn't strafe, he already turns to the left/right (i.e. GTA IV). Southpaw would make sense, but Legacy or Southpaw Legacy would just be weird.
