Killzone 2 Demo Offer from Gamestop

Want to play the Killzone 2 demo? Gamestop is offering a pass to both in-store and online customers who pre-order the game. Those who drop the $5 in store will receive a card that gives access to the demo, while those reserving via the website are promised an email with the code sometime on or after February 3. No details on what the demo will feature. We’ve poked our Sony contacts to see if there will be other ways to try out the game before its February 27 launch.

Now that the release of the PS3’s long-awaited killer app. is approaching, you can’t help but wonder if it will live up to the hype and deliver the goods, or flop.

And if any of you fine folks happen to give the demo a shot, please drop us some info regarding the available control options.

Any word yet on control options? I’ve been searching the Killzone 2 forums at PS3’s site for months and nobody knows anything about control choice yet…. This will be a must buy for me if Legacy is included. Trailers look incredible.

The beta had southpaw but no legacy. The first version of the beta didnt even have southpaw so I guess there’s still a small chance they’ll add legacy for the full release.

    Thanks for the tip, CyrusQ.

I kind of had the feeling that this one would be a Southpaw, No Legacy game. Hopefully they’ll include it in the demo & final builds though.

Find it stupid that you have to pre-order the game to be able to play the demo. Normally I thought a demo would be the occasion for me to test the game and make the decision to pre-order the game and not the other way around.
There is some rumour the demo might appear in Europe before the official release of the game.
Another rumour says the game might be released 6th February in Europe: http://forums.gametrailers.com/?do=show_thread&id=571629

I’d agree with that, if you’ve already purchased the game, there’s not much sense in playing the demo…

I saw yesterday the you will be able to download the demo February 26th, one day before the NA launch. However the demo will be available for download in europe early February so creating a dummy EU PSN account will get you in w/o having to pre-order.
