Poll Results: Most Anticipated Game

The results from our poll on the most anticipated upcoming games are in: Gears of War 2 takes the cake with 32.79% of the vote.
Left 4 Dead also put up a good fight, earning itself 19.67%. I thought this may have been a little higher, but perhaps a number of you are just approaching this one cautiously due to the fact that we’re all unsure if alternate controls will be offered at the moment. I know SAKY is frothing at the mouth to get his hands on this one though.
Fallout 3 and Resistance 2 also faired well. It’s quite clear that most of you could care less about the next COD game, though I tend to think if this one was being developed by Infinity Ward, this result would be drastically different. And no one seems to care about BIA: Hell’s Highway, at least in comparison to the other titles it went up against.
Of course, there are tons of games on the way soon that were not included in the poll (hence the “something else” option) such as FarCry 2, Project Origin, Quantum of Solace, etc. It’s a good thing it will be getting cold soon, because I’ll be staying indoors to try out as many of these upcoming games that I can get my hands on.

September 16th, 2008 at 11:22 amI demand a recount! NO WAY IN HELL people could want (pffft) Gears 2 over Left 4 Dead. Are we using butterfly ballots here?!?! Did someone throw some votes out with the trash?

September 17th, 2008 at 3:13 amGears 2 is going to absolutely rape Left for Dead. The only thing promising about LFD is that its using the Source(half-life 2) engine. I just can’t believe you left out Farcry 2 out of the poll (even though I still would have voted for Gears 2 (but farcry would be my second choice)
p.s. it’s just starting to heat up finally here in Australia. Why does it have to be Summer over Christmas down here? Ive been stuck inside for months in the cold and rain with not one decent release. -

September 17th, 2008 at 5:00 amGlad I didn’t bet on the outcome as my guess would have been…Gears, Fallout, Resistance, Left4Dead, and then total guessing at the rest.
oh yes, and a
to you also my friend. -

September 17th, 2008 at 7:02 amI think the gameplay is the main draw for L4D, lets hope Turtle Rock Studios can pull everything together for has been promised to be a unique experience. Plus, you know….ZOMBIES! By a huge margin, graphically, the Unreal engine is more modern than Source. I just hope L4D is half as great as I hope and that Gears 2 is way better than the first which was, for me, a giant dissapointment in the in one place where it counts…gameplay. The duck n cover system in Gears 1 really pissed me off (see: broken IMO) and the sight aiming was less than desirable.
Is Farcry 2 even scheduled to release before/during the holidays?

September 17th, 2008 at 8:03 amFar Cry 2 will be out on Oct. 21st.
I guess I could have included that one in the poll. I just figured though if I listed everything that was coming out, the results would be kind of skewed, with a bunch of games in the 2-5% region instead of getting a decisive winner.
I went with the ones I felt were more likely to be on the top of (most) people’s priority lists. Though I’m also excited about Far Cry 2.
