Quake 3 Arena Arcade

Now being a big Quake fan, and a HUGE Legacy user, I am a bit worried. If you haven’t heard, Quake 3 Arena is soon to be released on Xbox Live Arcade by Pi Studios. Pi do not have a good reputation for including Legacy controls.
I decided to send them an email asking if they could kindly include Legacy controls and not to disappoint me like countless titles I would have loved to have played in the past. They replied with: “What are Legacy controls?”
I explained but never heard back. It’s not looking good. If anyone wants to help get the message across sling them a quick email at info@pistudios.com.

April 28th, 2008 at 12:15 pmWhy don’t you ask them to include customizable controls INCLUDING mapping of the look and movement functions. This way everyone can be happy and developers know what you are loking for.
Also, despite the site motto, customizable controls is what we want in these games. Southpaw and Legacy are a great start but believe it or not those two options don’t address other people’s control preference. Guys keep this in mind contacting devs.

April 28th, 2008 at 1:36 pmI actually said in my reply that fully customizable controls are the way to go, just like free radical games. Free radical are the perfect example of making games playable for everyone with complete customization for everyone of their titles.

April 28th, 2008 at 1:41 pmThat’s why Free Radical are one of my favorite developers. Their amazing games help as well.
And it’s not a shock really to me the the customer service reps didn’t know what Legacy was… they usually don’t know anything about the games.

April 28th, 2008 at 1:57 pmThat exactly what I was thinking, but the reps might actually say something to the developers if enough people email them.
Timesplitter 3 was 2nd only to halo 2 online back 3 years ago. I could not stop playing that game. Imagine if TS4 didnt have customizable controls. I reakon that would have to be the biggest let down in my gaming history (or it only comes out on wii which could be the case). -

Did you know that Free Radical is thinking of remaking TimeSplitters 2 in HD for the PS Network? It’s not a for-sure thing yet though.

Although you may want to pick up a PS3 anyway for Haze, also by Free Radical, coming out in May.
