Here is a trailer for the upcoming Tomb Raider: Underworld -
Like recent Tomb Raider titles, I would imagine that this one is not going to offer Southpaw or Legacy control schemes; though it will likely make use of an auto-lock targeting system, so hopefully most of you will still find it to be fairly accessible.
Look for this one to launch on November 18th in North America and on the 21st in Europe on multiple platforms.

November 17th, 2008 at 12:58 amI think it’s okay to assume games such as Tomb Raider to not have other control schemes such as scout or legacy cause it’s mostly a platformer. I think scout or legacy work best in either FPS or third person ( Socom ). Platformers are a lot different compared to FPS or third person shooters cause of the actions that they involved. Shooters usually come with a crosshair for targeting while platformers are mostly like freeplay ( GTA IV or Mario Galaxy). I guess that’s how you can explain it. Any body else have a better explanation??? Lemme know please!

What we are covering is anything with a crosshair or manual aiming via the analog. GTA IV falls under this as there is a manual aim mode and the sniper rifle is manually aimed. I myself completed GTA IV with 100% manual aiming (it’s is a in-game stat btw) because I prefer that to the auto aiming which, in GTA 4 and previous interations, was spotty at best…often locking on to a target you didn’t want to fire upon.
Mario Galaxy, like all Wii titles, don’t apply has the IR pointer used for aiming in games. Wii is a situation where you really do have to get used to that layout as there is no other alternative. Besides that, it’s pretty intuitive in my opinion.
I hope this answers your questions.

November 17th, 2008 at 12:56 pmGood explanation, SAKY.
And McLovin my friend, I think you need to start renting games beforehand so you don’t waste anymore cash…
There was a demo for Tomb Raider: Legend on my hard drive… it was good for 15 minutes of fun but didn’t warrant further exploration or a purchase, in my opinion.

November 19th, 2008 at 1:19 amyeah but renting is a pain because the game you want is never in, and downloading demo’s is annoying because A) first time I did it I left my console on overnight to download and the next morning RROD, and B) no achievements from demos (I am an achievement whore!) ;o)

And I guess you could always sell games that you don’t like anyway.

did you turn on the “Background downloads” feature? If you do thiss you can shut down the console and it will continue download any files. Once the download(s) are complete the system will shut itself off completly. When the system is off and downloding a file the center power light will blink as an indicator that the file downloading, similar to when you are charging a controller on a powered off system.

November 20th, 2008 at 12:43 amYeah i did that when it gave me rrod. Doesnt really as I know how to fix them now (got 5 360’s at my joint right now)

yes well, it was a suggestion for future practice with your 360(s), it’s not going to fix a broken unit just a nice way to avoid RROD from prolonged runtime. As i said you wouldn’t have to leave the machine on overnight for downloads.
I don’t want to know why you have 5 XBOXs, that’s insane.

November 21st, 2008 at 9:15 pmI have them because they break often and when you know how to fix them a lot of people suddenly want to be your friend. Picked up an elite for $75 AUD the other day, which is about $40-$45 US!!! Easy fix aswell.

November 27th, 2008 at 9:30 amJust to confirm, I rented this one the other night when I picked up Legendary and it offers no alternate controls like the past iterations (control lists updated to reflect this). It’s also not very good.
